The Evans & Davis Team Approach vs. Other Estate Planning Attorneys and Firms
| Feature | Evans & Davis Team | Other Estate Planning Attorneys or Firms |
|---|---|---|
| Fee Model | Flat fees based on complexity quoted upfront; no ongoing costs or annual maintenance fees. | Hourly billing often utilized. |
| Scope of Services | Exclusively practicing in the areas of estate and business planning, probate, and trust administration. Devote every day to family-legacy matters. | Often divide attention among a variety of practice areas like bankruptcy, personal injury, and family law. |
| Geographic Reach | Licensed to operate or have of-counsel relationships in 46 states, offering a one-stop shop for clients no matter where they reside. | Often limited to a single state; must refer you out to other law firms if you own property or move across state lines. |
| Trust Funding | Quotes the entire fee upfront, including the funding of the trust (placing all assets in the trust). | Often provides the estate plan without funding the trust, then adds additional fees to move assets into the trust. |
| Consultation Fee | Complimentary consultation with zero fees to meet, review family information, and discover exactly what is right for each client family before quoting exact costs. | May charge a consultation fee, charge hourly, or provide limited pricing info upfront. |
| Trust Revision Costs | Predictable fees of $1,000 to $2,500; no annual subscriptions; no additional fee if new assets (like a home) are titled correctly. | Often charge hourly for amendments or fee structures without a clearly defined scope. |
| Proactive Communication | Team and technology approach with both personal and automated updates and access to attorneys and their team members. | May have unpredictable response times and long periods without updates. |
| Client Experience Philosophy | “Everyone Has a Grape Soda” Core Value means team members listen deeply to uncover what makes each client family unique. | Often high-volume, document-centered process with fewer opportunities for personal discussion. |
Evans & Davis Utilizes Transparent, Upfront Flat-Fee Billing
Most traditional attorneys charge by the hour, but Evans & Davis uses a clear flat fee based on estate and business planning complexity. We start with a complimentary consultation to review your intake form and provide an exact cost before you commit to moving forward.
Trust plans most often range from $4,000 to $8,000 depending on the complexity of your estate. This upfront price covers a complete package of documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, HIPAA forms, and funeral plans. There are zero annual subscription fees; future plan revisions cost a predictable $1,000 to $2,500; and titling a newly purchased home directly into your trust is complimentary and includes no additional legal fees.
Evans & Davis Provides Complete End-to-End Trust Funding
Many traditional attorneys or firms provide an estate plan and then charge clients additional fees to move their assets into the trust. Evans & Davis takes a more complete approach by including the entire trust funding process in your initial upfront flat fee.
When we quote your flat fee, our written contract explicitly covers moving your real estate, accounts, and businesses into the trust. By incorporating funding into the overall package, we make sure your plan is fully protected within your budget without unexpected add-on fees.
Evans & Davis Serves Clients Across 46 States
With licensure or of-counsel attorney relationships in 46 states, Evans & Davis provides a single point of contact for all of your estate planning needs almost nationwide. If you own vacation homes, hold out-of-state property, or relocate across state lines, our team handles your multi-state planning seamlessly in-house. You never have to worry about hiring separate local attorneys or managing multiple legal teams to keep your family and assets protected.
Evans & Davis Focuses Exclusively On Estate Planning
Traditional law firms often operate as general practices where attorneys split their time and focus across a wide variety of legal practices. An attorney at a general practice firm might handle a divorce proceeding in the morning, draft a personal injury settlement in the afternoon, and attempt to draft an estate plan in between trial preparations. Because these attorneys must keep up with constantly changing laws across completely different fields like criminal defense, family law, and litigation, estate planning is frequently treated as a secondary service rather than a primary focus that receives daily attention.
The Evans & Davis team only practices in the areas of estate planning, business planning, probate, and trust administration. We are specialists, and our bench is deep. The firm’s history spans a generation, and shared attorney expertise means you get the competence and savvy of the collective team.
Evans & Davis Maintains Proactive Communication
Unresponsive attorneys and their teams and poor communication are the number one complaint in the legal industry, leaving clients wondering where their plan stands for weeks at a time. The Evans & Davis team treats estate planning like a collaborative group project with input from you, your attorneys, and their legal assistants.
Our team uses dedicated technology for automated, proactive updates. And we are always a phone call, text message, or email away to walk through draft documents and answer homework questions.
